My Cosplay History

I was meant to work on my acoustics assignment today so instead I thought it would be a great idea to make a list of all the cosplay I have done! 

I've listed them in order of when I first wore each cosplay and I went a little bit into the future at the end =P I also included cosplays I've made or helped others make. For some reason I was so sure that I'd made more! I guess when I make so many plans and visualise how I'll make them in my head, it seems like I'd already cosplayed them :P Anyway, enjoy! :D

My Happenings

I realise it takes me a bit of effort to remember to update dA with photos and such but I tend to update my fb page pretty well. If you'd like to see more of my photos and hear about my plans check it out: 


So after exams and mid-year report I have a week left before lectures start again! So in between work and my final year project I'm really excited to get back to cosplay again! Yay!

At the moment I have bags full of fabric for Maria from Shinsekai Yori, Apocalypse Jasmine, Disney Princess Belle and Prince Gumball from Adventure Time! phew! 

Also! Before Spring comes, I want to put together a kimono and have a shoot in the Sakura blossoms because they are so so gorgeous. Last year I would look out from the Engineering building at the blossoms at the Domain and so badly want to frolic in them!

Before Summer I want to finish making my first fabric mermaid tail! That way I can test it out in the ocean as soon as its warm enough. I have a bag of pretty turquoise holographic scale fabric to use. 

For Overload I'm planning to do Prince Gumball and from there see how much time I have to make the others. I'll be leaving Belle until next year. If I have time I'll maybe also make Aoi Asahina from Dangan Ronpa, Beth from Bravest Warriors or Coffee from Sakizo's illustrations.

I've also been sketching out designs for lolita and steampunk clothes. Maybe sometime next year I'll have time to actually make some of them XD

Yearly Update

So I guess I should update whats happened this year.

Went to Hamilton Armageddon in April. Ting and myself cosplayed:
Day 1 - Disney Aladdin and Princess Jasmine
Day 2 - Kamina and Yoko from Gurren Lagenn

On Day 1 we entered the couple's fear factor and had to roll an apple from our stomachs to one of our mouths'. I ended up almost putting my face in this crotch, but we won in the end! There was a video, but cant find it. It was pretty hilarious :P

On Day 2.. I am so proud of my rifle :3 My first prop. Unfortunately I put too much food in the back compartment of it and it bent in the middle D:

On both I worked at a friend's stall selling merch half the time. It was really fun :3


Went to Overload in September with myself as Shippuden Naruto and Ting as Sasuke :3 Had an awesome photoshoot with Hide where he replicated me for Shadow Doppleganger :D So much fun!

Auckland Armagedden in November was awesome! Ting and myself as:
Sat - Shippuden Sasuke and Naruto
Sun - Stein and Death the Kid from Soul Eater
Mon - Sebastian and Ciel from Kuroshitsuji (Black Butler)

I enter the Cosplay Contest for the first time and I won a Novice Technical Award yay! :)

I remade the pants, extended the headband straps and added all the details to the jacket (that I didnt have time to finish for Auckgeddon). I am so proud of the Uzumaki swirl on the back :D First time using that stitch on the sewing machine.

The week before that I was last minute making Little Bo Peep cosplay for my friend's 21st. That was a super fun night.

UG LIFE IN GENERAL

Its the summer hols. And I've been on holiday for almost 3 months now with no job and not a lot of productive things to do. That doesnt mean I havnt been busy.

I've bee doing a bit of nail art. And I'll eventually post pictures of it when I can be bothered.

For ACP (Auckland Cosplay Picnic) I'm going to be a Green Gijinka Pencil. See thread here -> cosplaynewzealand.forumotion.c… Though it seems like everyone has pulled out except for one other. But oh well, I've already started, it doesnt matter.

Ting will be cosplaying Vincent in dream state from the game Catherine. I'm not sure how I'll make his horns in time, as he only decided this yesterday -_-

My Cosplay Plans for the year (subject to change)

1. Death the Kid from Soul Eater - might get Ting to do Stein with me

2. Tale of the Waning Moon - Yaoi cosplay with a friend (with kitty ears and tail!) since Chris doesnt like the idea of cosplaying yaoi couples with me. I'll get him use to it eventually :P He was quite opposed to my ZackXCloud cosplay idea :P tehe.

3. Black Butler - with Ting and myself as Sebastian and Ciel. I'm not sure which outfit yet. I'll have to see how good I am with making formal clothes. I'll probably need a pattern for once.

4. Blossom from The Powerpuff Girls - I'd like to see if I could get a group together. Just a fun easy cosplay as it was one my favourite kids cartoons and I already have the perfect wig for it.

5. Noel Vermillion from BlazeBlue game - I have a group of friends doing it this year, and i was going to do it last year but decided against it.

6 Karen from Naruto - Again, an easy cosplay and I'm quite interested in making her jacket top. Not one of my favourite characters, but I like her look. Most Naruto characters have been done to death.

I have a lot of other cosplay ideas that I'm considering. I'd really like to compete at Auckgeddon Cosplay Competition this year, but I really cant decide on an appropriate costume. I usually cosplay a childhood favourite, or from something I've read or watched or played very recently. I'll see how it goes. I'll probably rewear older cosplays for better photos. Ting and I are considering going to Wellygeddon as well, though its still up in the air with costs and time away from study being an issue.

This year I also hope to snowboard a lot more during winter season, so funds will probably be low. I really need to get better grades at Uni and its also pretty vital I get my work experience this year. So I will probably be low on time as well :/ Hm. And all my friends and such are turning 21 this year, so a lot of 21st's!

A lot to expect this year :) And another year with my gorgeous bf ^^b All the best everyone!
